A delightful evening spent sipping bespoke cocktails “salmonchito” as an ode to the Club’s unique exterior color of salmon. Ms. Moira Moser and Mr. David Chang shared inside stories on how our magical clubhouse came to be. From the insistence of special green window frames to the utilization of this special piece of land and tree preservation, members really enjoyed this Centennial history centric informational evening. It was a great privilege.
“Here’s one story I forgot to mention during the talk that might be fun to keep in the archive: Bill Turnbull (Country Club Architect) returned to Hong Kong for the Tai Tam opening on July 4, 1987. That evening, as everyone celebrated with joy and happiness, Rick Kroos, Tom Greer, and couple of others threw Bill into the swimming pool! I was wearing a skirt that evening, so I was spared. The memory of that pool “inauguration” still makes me smile.”
